Air France-KLM: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Air France-KLM is a new airline company created by the September 30, 2003 merger between Air France of Paris, France and the Netherlands based KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

Air France shareholders own 81 per cent of the new firm, while KLM shareholders hold the remainder. As a result of the deal, the French government's share of Air France has been reduced from 54.4 per cent to 44 per cent.
