HMS Halifax: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

HMS Halifax, British Royal Navy.

USS Ranger was renamed HMS Halifax after the ship was captured along with USS Providence and USS Boston from the United States Navy on May 11, 1780, after the fall of Charleston, South Carolina during the American War of Independence. She was decommissioned the following year.
