Inveraray: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Inveraray is a bugh in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, located on Loch Fyne, and on the A83 road. The Duke of Argyll founded the town in 1745, alongside his new dwelling, Inveraray Castle.

The Georgian Inveraray Jail in the burgh is now a museum. Other attractions include the Combined Operations Museum and the Argyll Folk Museum. The Celtic Inverary Cross can also been seen in the town, and the Arctic Penguin ship is moored at the pier.
