LainOS: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

LainOS is an open source programming project that aims to produce a UNIX-like operating system that recreates the interface of the fictional computer Navi, from the anime Serial Experiments Lain. Currently, the base system is FreeBSD; the main goal of the project is the GUI, which will involve writing a variation on XFree86 that will use OpenGL for all primitive functions and a BlackBox-based window manager, LainWM.
