Psycle: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

PSYCLE is a free and open source Modular Music Creation Studio designed around a tracker-style user interface. It can be used to make virtually any type of electronic music, using a combination of native plugins (synths and effects), VST2 plugins (synths and effects) and an internal sampler.

PSYCLE is very easy to use. Notes and other musical and control data are entered into patterns. The contents of these patterns is then "played" by the various plug-ins. Patterns can then be arranged into a sequence to create a song.

PSYCLE sequences can be saved in PSYCLE's native ".psy format", as well as in ".wav" format. This allows you to compress the song either in .mp3 or .ogg formats for distribution.

Here is a list of PSYCLE's key features:

• 64 Track Pattern Editor • Stereo Sampler that supports high quality stereo .wav and .iff files • 2 internal plugins (sampler and dummy) • Almost 50 native plugins (synths and effects) • Totally modular Machines editor • VST/i support • Recording realtime tweakings of machines parameters • Rendering to .wav with different options • Basic samples editor • Instruments editor (Amplitude/Filter envelopes) • NNA (New Note Actions) • Support for .fxb file format/.prs for natives • MIDI-In support • Configurable keyboard layout • Automatic pattern shuffle. • Support for themes and skins • ASIO driver
