- November 9 - Wilbur Wright flies 2.75 miles (4.4 km) at Dayton, Ohio, the first flight of longer than five minutes.

- May 26 - Wright Flyer II. On September 20th is used to fly the first complete circle in an airplane (aeroplane). Some flights without catapult or headwind assisted takeoff.
