Bay of Pigs: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

The Bay of Pigs (Spanish: Bahia de (los) Cochinos) is a bay on the southern coast of Cuba. It is mostly known for a failed attempt at a US-backed invasion by Cuban exiles intent on overthrowing Fidel Castro, at a beach near Havana called Playa Giron in 1961. The attack is called Giron Beach in Cuba.
