Black Bart was the nickname of Welsh-born pirate, Bartholomew Roberts.

Black Bart "the Po-8" was a poet and American Old West outlaw.

In California on July 26, 1878 he made his last clean getaway when he stole a safe box from a Wells Fargo stagecoach. The empty box was found later with a taunting poem inside. On November 3, 1883 he got away with his last stagecoach robbery, but this time he left an incriminating clue that eventually led to his capture.
