Boilermaker: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

A boilermaker is a cocktail made by pouring a shot of whiskey into a glass of beer. Traditionally, the shot and the beer are served separately, and the two are mixed by dropping the shotglass and its whiskey into the beer just before drinking.


The boilermaker is the mascot of Purdue University, and a traditional name for a Purdue student or alumnus.


A boilermaker is a trained craftsman who produces steel fabrications from plates and sections. The name originated from craftsmen who would fabricate boilers, but they may be anything from bridges to blast furnaces.
