Camarilla: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

The Camarilla are a fictional society of vampires, composed of 7 clans, from White Wolf Game Studio's books and role-playing games. Their symbol is an ankh hanging from a necklace. White Wolf states, "The Camarilla is the largest sect of undead on the world. They assert that all vampires are already under their jurisdiction. (VtM3 -- p.65) The Camarilla was founded, during the 15th Century, in response to the Inquisition. The group primarily concerns itself with the Masquerade, an attempt to "hide" vampirism, from humanity. The organization is headquartered in Wien, Austria. The Camarilla is at war with the Sabbat.
