Dav Pilkey: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

David "Dav" Pilkey (born March 4, 1966, in Cleveland, OH) is a popular children's author and artist. He currently lives in Oregon, and is a vegan.

In elementary school, Pilkey was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. Frequently sent to sit at a desk in the hallway because of his disruptive behavior, Pilkey began creating his first comic books.

At first, his nickname was Dave. After he got a job at a pizza parlor, the management spelt his name "Dav" on his card. The nickname stuck.

Pilkey wrote and illustrated the popular Captain Underpants series, the Ricky Ricotta series, and The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby. Pilkey also wrote the Dumb Bunnies series, and the Dragon series. He published his first book, World War Won, when he was only 19 years old.

He published the Dumb Bunnies series of books under the nom de plume Sue Denim, a parody of the word pseudonym.
