Glare (material): Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Glare refers to a sandwich of aluminum-alloy-and-glass fiber and is a contraction of "glass-reinforced". It was developed in the Netherlands by Stokker Aviation NV in the mid 1990s. The composite material is used widely in new commercial aircraft to reduce weight while increasing strength.
