Great Plains (accounting): Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Mid-market business accounting software that runs on top of a SQL database server.

Great Plains was an independent company that put this software out for years. In recent years, Microsoft bought Great Plains out and now puts the software out as "Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains."

Previous versions (7.5 and prior) could be used with the following database managers: Microsoft SQL Server, Pervasive SQL (BTRIEVE), or CTREE.

The current version is 8.0. Version 8.0 requires Microsoft SQL Server.
