Havelock, New Zealand: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Havelock (not to be confused with Havelock North) is a coastal village at the head of one of the Marlborough Sounds.

The State Highway to Blenheim heads south from Havelock, but a shorter though very tortuous road proceeds east.

Among its world-famous former residents were rocket scientist William Pickering and atom-splitter Ernest Rutherford.
