Helen Dunmore is a poet, novelist and children's writer. She lives in Bristol and has published seven novels and two collections of short stories. Her collections of poetry include Out of the Blue (2001), Bestiary (1997), Secrets (1994), Recovering a Body (1994), Short Days, Long Nights (1991), The Raw Garden (1988), The Sea Skater (1986) and The Apple Fall (1983)

She has won the Cardiff International Poetry Prize, been shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and her books named as Poetry Book Society Choice and Recommendations.
