Interstate 595 (Florida): Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Interstate 595 (Everglades Expressway) connects Interstate 75 in the west with Ft. Lauderdale International Airport, U.S. 1 and Interstate 95 in the east. When I-595 was first built it was called "The Highway to Nowhere" by locals because of little or no housing development at the exits, but now it is a major interstate highway in South Florida.
