James Burton (b. August 21, 1939) is a legendary guitarist and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is most notable for his work with Rick Nelson and Elvis Presley. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Burton's later career included landmark work with Merle Haggard and Emmylou Harris, among others.
