Lalli: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Lalli (Laurentius) was a rich man widely reviled for having killed Bishop Henry on the ice of lake Köyliönjärvi on January 20 1156.

Almost nothing is known about him apart from his infamous deed. He has almost universally been branded a traitor of the worst kind. Very rarely he has been seen as a figure demonstrating a positive rebellion against oppressive authority.
