M197 Gatling gun: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

The M197 Gatling gun is a variant of the 20 mm M61 Vulcan Gatling gun. The M197, which is carried by the AH-1 Cobra and its variants (including the SeaCobra and SuperCobra series) and the OV-10 Bronco, utilizes only three gun barrels as opposed to the Vulcan's six. Using a linkless feed, the gun can fire 750 or 1,500 rounds per minute.
