Marama: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

In Polynesian mythology, Marama is a lunar deity and a goddess of death for the Maori. She disappears occasionally (new moon) but is rejuvenating after bathing in the water of life. Kiho, the creator, made her.

In the Hervey Islands, Marama is a male lunar deity, who loved Ina, the goddess of light. They were married and she lives in the sky during the day and rarely sees her husband.
