Marcus Welby, M.D. was a popular medical drama that aired on ABC from late September, 1969 to May 1976. The producers of the show were David Victor and David J. O'Connell. It starred Robert Young as Marcus Welby, James Brolin as Dr. Steven Kiley, and Elena Verdugo as secretary Consuelo Lopez.

In 1970, it ranked #1 in the Nielsen Television Index, becoming the first program aired on ABC to do so. Also in 1970, both Young and Brolin won Emmy awards, and the show won an Emmy for Outstanding Dramatic Series. In 1972, Robert Young won a Golden Globe award for Actor in a Leading Role for Drama Series or Television Movie.
