Martin Bashir: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Martin Bashir (born January 19, 1963) is a British journalist of Pakistani origin, noted for securing exclusive interviews with a range of public figures.

Since then he has conducted interviews with, amongst others, Louise Woodward, the five suspects in the Stephen Lawrence case, Michael Barrymore, Jeffrey Archer, and most recently Michael Jackson.

After seeing the resulting documentary, Jackson felt betrayed by Bashir and filed complaints. See the article on Jackson for more.

He is to move to ABC Television in the USA as an investigative reporter when his contract with Granada Television expires in July 2004.
