Mount Healthy is located at 39°13'55" North, 84°32'50" West (39.231808, -84.547244)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.7 km² (1.4 mi²). 3.7 km² (1.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

As of the census of 2000, there are 7,149 people, 3,222 households, and 1,772 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,943.8/km² (5,022.2/mi²). There are 3,421 housing units at an average density of 930.2/km² (2,403.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 73.70% White, 23.32% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 0.60% from other races, and 1.64% from two or more races. 1.02% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 3,222 households out of which 28.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 36.3% are married couples living together, 15.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 45.0% are non-families. 40.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
