New Jersey State Highway 36: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

New Jersey State Highway 36 is a state highway in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. It goes east from Eatontown, New Jersey at Exit 105 of the Garden State Parkway towards the Atlantic Ocean. At its intersection with Ocean Ave. in Long Branch, Route 36 heads north along the Atlantic Ocean to Sandy Hook and then turns west to Keyport, New Jersey, where it intersects with New Jersey State Highway 35 and the Garden State Parkway. The overall shape of Route 36 is that of a backwards C.

Route 36 is the only way to access the Gateway National Recreation Area at Sandy Hook.
