New Party (Canada): Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

New Party was the interim name used during the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation during its transition to becoming the New Democratic Party of Canada. The New Party name was used in a 1960 by-election in Peterborough which was won by New Party candidate Walter Pitman.
