The Newcastle Falcons is a rugby union team currently playing in the Zurich Premiership. The team plays at Kingston Park in Newcastle upon Tyne.
"Falcons" refers to the origins of the club being one of Sir John Hall's clubs he attempted to establish in Newcastle upon Tyne. The three teams were the football team, nicknamed the Magpies, the Newcastle Eagles basketball team and the Newcastle Falcons rugby team.
The club was founded in 1877 and was named Gosforth Football Club. In 1990 the club name was changed to Newcastle Gosforth.
Jonny Wilkinson plays in position 10 for the team.
