Nisan (ניסן, Standard Hebrew Nisan, Tiberian Hebrew Nîsān: from Akkadian nisānu, from Sumerian nisag "First fruits") is the seventh month of the ecclesiastical year and the first month of the civil year on the Hebrew calendar. The name is Babylonian in origin; in the Bible it is called Abib, meaning spring. It is a spring month of 30 days. It is also the month April in Turkish.
