Nuclear reprocessing: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Nuclear reprocessing separates any usable nuclear fuels (e.g., uranium and plutonium) from fission products and other materials in used reactor fuels. The usable nuclear fuels can then reused in power plants. The fission products can either be sent to a nuclear waste repository or separated further for various industrial and medical uses.
