Omni Air International: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Omni Air International is a United States air carrier that provides passenger service for major American tour operators and for federal government agencies.

It was founded in 1983 as Omni Air Transport and operated Learjet aircraft for corporate charter flights and air ambulance services. In 1993, the company purchased Boeing 727 aircraft and operated as Omni Air Express. Omni Air Express was contracted to provide freight services for Emery Worldwide, United Parcel Service, BAX Global and DHL private postal companies. In 1997, the company purchased DC-10 aircraft and finally entered the passenger market under the brand name, Omni Air International. In 1999, the company was contracted by the United States Department of Defense to operate military missions around the world. During and after the 2003 War on Iraq, Omni Air International provided support services for troop deployment.

The busiest Omni Air International commercial route is between Honolulu International Airport and Las Vegas, Nevada. Seasonal winter and summer schedules are often expanded to include Mexico, Caribbean and Florida destinations.
