The Pandanales are an order of flowering plants.
The order includes five families, with trees, shrubs, lianas, and herb species. Several members of the order produce straplike leaves that are used for basketry; Pandanus (family Pandanaceae) is used across Oceania for thatch, basketry, and to make cloth, and Carludovica leaves (family Cyclanthaceae) are made into Panama hats.
