Patrick Abercrombie: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Sir Leslie Patrick Abercrombie (June 6, 1879 - March 23, 1957) was a British town planner. He was the creator of plans for the replanning of Hull, Bath, Edinburgh and Bournemouth, amongst others. He is best known for the post World War 2 replanning of London. He created the County of London Plan (1943) and the Greater London Regional Plan (1944) which are commonly referred to as the Abercrombie Plan.

He is the brother of Lascelles Abercrombie.


He should not be confused with Patrick Abercromby the Scottish physician.
