R1: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

The R1 subway car was the original passenger stock on the IND New York Subway. 300 cars were manufactured between 1930 and 1931 by American Car & Foundry, numbered 100 through 399. Future passenger stock orders through to R9 had shared mechanical and cosmetic qualities.

The R1 motorbike began in 1998 as the first 1000cc class motorcycle, with continued dominance in that class until 2003, when Yamaha revealed its 2004 updated R1 to compete with such other 1 liter super bikes such as the GSX-R 1000 ("gixxer") and the Honda 954 CBR RR.

The R1 Assualt Rifle is a license-built FN FAL used by the South African Army.
