Redcurrant: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

The Redcurrant (Ribes rubrum) is a member of the Ribes family or fruiting bushes . It is a little sourer than it relative the blackcurrant and is cultivated mainly for jams rather than for the table. It also has medicinal properties. It is a native of southern Europe and Asia but occasionally grows wild in northern Europe as an escape from cultivation.
