Revillagigedo Channel: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

The Revillagigedo Channel in the Alexander Archipelago of southeast Alaska, is a channel of ocean between the Alaska mainland in the east and Revillagigedo Island in the north and and Duke Island and Annette Island in the southwest. The channel extends 56 km (35 miles) northwest from the Dixon Entrance.

The channel is part of the Inside Passage to Ketchikan, Alaska.

It was named for Juan Vicente Güemes Pacheco de Padilla, Count of Revilla Gigedo, viceroy of Mexico (1789–1794) in 1793.
