SS-N-15: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

The SS-N-15 Cruise Missile is a Russian missile, designated the Starfish. It is designed to be fired from a 533mm torpedo tube, where it is boosted by a choice of mechanisms depending on model before clearing the water, firing a solid rocket[propellant and delivering its payload up to 45km away. The payload ranges from a simple depthcharger, to a 20 kT nuclear warhead.
