Sam Fisher: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Sam Fisher is a fictional character from a computer game.

The character is a Third Echelon operative in the Splinter Cell games.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy SEALs, he is recruited by Third Echelon, a secretive division of the National Security Agency. Despite his age, he is very agile and sigilous, expert in the art of stealth.

His 'handler' is Irving Lambert, who coordinates intelligence and objective information with Fisher. He is assisted throughout his missions by NSA employees Anna Grimsdottir and Vernon Wilkes Jr (later replaced by Coen), who provide technical advisory and field transportation respectively.

While very little is known about his past, throughout the course of the first game he travels widely, his missions taking him to Georgia, Azerbaijan, Myanmar, and Russia. The second game takes place largely in Indonesia and its surrounds, though he also travels to France, Israel, and Los Angeles in the US.
