Schnauzer: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

A Schnauzer is a German type of dog. The name comes from the German word for nose because of the dogs' distinctively large noses. Kennel clubs generally subdivide these dogs into three breeds by size:

• Miniature Schnauzer
• Standard Schnauzer
• Giant Schnauzer

Though derived from a common ancestor and sharing certain physical attributes and personality traits—notably intelligence, a friendly personality, and a mischievous sense of humor—the three breeds are separate types of dogs.

The Russian Black Terrier is also sometimes known as the Russian Bear Schnauzer.
