Sojutsu: Meaning (information, definition, explanation, facts)

Sôjutsu or yarijutsu (槍術) is the art of fighting with the Japanese spear, yari (槍).

Sôjutsu is typically only a single component of curriculum in comprehensive Japanese koryu schools; for example Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu includes spear fighting techiques. Other famous sôjutsu schools are Owari Kan Ryu and Hozoin Ryu.
