Spanair S.A., is a Spanish airline, which was founded in December of 1986. 51% of the company is owned by Teinver S.A. and 49% by SAS.

It began operating at the end of March 1988, and has it's head offices in Palma de Mallorca. It has operating bases in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Santiago de Compostela, Madrid, Barcelona, Mahón, Ibiza, Arrecife de Lanzarote, Málaga, Bilbao, Asturias, Vigo, Alicante, Valencia, Vitoria and Fuerteventura. The company is a member of the Star Alliance.
