The Stalin Peace Prize (renamed the Lenin Peace Prize as a result of destalinization) was the Soviet Union's answer to the Nobel Peace Prize. It was awarded by an international panel appointed by the Soviet government to individuals who it felt had "strengthened peace among peoples". Unlike the Nobel Peace Prize the Stalin and Lenin Prizes were awarded to multiple recipients in any given year. It is apparently still being awarded by the Russian government.
