The Šubićes served as Counts of Trogir, Counts of Split and Šibenik, and Counts of Bribir. Paul and Mladen Šubić, Counts of Bribir, controlled Bosnia from 1299 to 1322.

The Zrinski (Zrinyi) family were a branch of the Šubićes.
