The tahr, genus Hemitragus, is the common name for several species of mountain-dwelling Asian goat-antelopes. They have shaggy coats and curved horns. Tahrs are in the family Bovidae with other even-toed, horned ungulates like cattle and antelope. They are related to true goats.
There are three species of tahr: the Himalayan tahr, Arabian tahr, and Nilgiri tahr.
