The Defeat of the Spanish Armada is a book by Garrett Mattingly, a popular history of the Spanish Armada's attempt to invade England. The book was published in 1959 by Jonathan Cape Ltd, and won a Pulitzer Prize in 1960.
It covers both the historical context, including the complicated politics, and the day-by-day narrative of the events.
It has been reissued a number of times, and as of 2003 is in print as The Armada (ISBN 0395083664).
