Thrashcore, a subgenre of metalcore, is a combination of thrash metal and hardcore punk music.

This definition is at odds with an earlier definition of thrash metal as form of heavy metal music that incorporated elements of hardcore punk, notably the latter's emphasis on extreme speed.
