Tramlink (until recently known as Croydon Tramlink ) is a public transport system in south London , run by Transport for London . Interchange is possible with National Rail and the London Underground at certain points. The system, centred on Croydon , consists of Bombardier -built multiple-unit design trams which run partially on-street and partially beside Network Rail 's tracks.
The system is currently based in the London Borough of Croydon , but extensions and other tram systems are planned in London; and the network was rebranded in anticipation of that.
